happenings in the studio

busy, busy, busy happenings here in julie king art studio!

presley visited the vet today and is doing much better. his head tilt is improved and he's not quite as wobbly. our vet put him on arthritis meds and a special diet to get him to gain some weight. he is sleeping soundly right now under the art table, just like a good art studio mascot should!!

hotel gallery in tipp city asked me to display my art!! i'll be sharing one of the little art rooms with a wood artist starting september 1st. i'm very excited and busy sketching out some new ideas so i'll have a bigger variety of originals to display (and sell!!) there.

sales, sales, sales!!! art is flying out the door and i need to replenish my inventory. i feel a couple of all-nighters coming up soon.

new originals have been added to my etsy shop!! and, i still have several more to go!!

oriental rice paper has made its first appearance in my art room. creative experimentation is under way.

thanks to all of you for continuing to read the infrequent posts on my blog. i'm trying to live a fuller, richer, more active life AND work on my art. i'll blog when i can but can't promise a daily post right now!

Wow! All this neat, wonderful news! Good for you getting to display your art at the hotel! And it's so nice that your art is flying out the etsy windows! :) I sell jewelry on ebay but take a break during the summer while I have the boys out of school. I'm itching to get back to it, so I know the feeling. Glad your dog seems better...hope the extra tlc does him some good! :)

I'm so happy to hear that Presley is feeling better, and you are correct...under the desk is the perfect place for an art studio dog! Edward lays on top of my feet, and Apple stays under my chair. I can't move right or left, but that's okay.

Congratulations on everything that's popping with your art!! Good job!!

It sounds like there is lots of excitement in your house right now. I can't wait to see how you are using the rice paper. Good luck with the show.

I'm so glad business is going well. After I featured you on my blog my niece fell in love with your work. She pulled out all of her paper and started "collaging". She has told me time and time again that she needed that inspiration to pull her out of the "young mommy" world long enough to have some personal time. So see, you are doing good in the world! Sending good thoughts to you...Bobbi

Wow! Sounds like you've been busy.
Congrats on the art display - very exciting. :-) I too haven't found much time to blog lately. Between real job, home job, and everyday happenings there just aren't enough hours in the day. :)
