the little ducklings hatched this week! just like last year i got to see them one evening and the next morning mama had moved them off to the pond across the road. there were 9 broken-open eggs left in th nest. what a big happy family! can't wait to see if they come back to next in the same spot next year.

How adorable and familiar! We had a duck lay eggs under a bush in fornt of our house this spring...she laid 12 eggs and 11 ducks survived. Pretty amazing. You can check out my blog to see the photos. I felt it was an honor to be chosen and my kids loved it.
Thanks for stopping by!

They're so adorable! This picture reminds me of the time I went painting by a lake, and I was sitting still for so long that little ducklings were running around near my feet--thinking I was just another part of the scenery.

Aw, how cute! I had a mother duck sitting in my tulips at a townhouse my husband and I rented years ago, but we moved before the eggs hatched. I imagine this would almost exactly have been the scene. Love 'em.

How fun to have this annual event to look forward to. A few Canadian geese stop each summer at a lake near my work place and raise their young ones. It is so much fun to watch them shepherding them across the road to the tall grasses and to see them swimming on the lake.

I'm so jealous. I live near a park and watch mamas have their many ducklings but have searched and never found a nest or eggs. I would love to watch the process happen! They all are do adorable how they can walk, peep and motor around in the water like little wind up toys.

If you click on my name you (I have three blogs linked to my profile) some of those stories are found the blog I called "Adventures in Nature". if you care to stop by.
