fleeting
some of the best things in life are fleeting. sweet, warm babes too quickly grow. a snowflake perfect in symmetry and icy wonder quickly melts. juicy red raspberries fall from the vine initiating the year-long wait for more. the heady aroma of succulent lilly-of-the-valley fades as summer blooms.
perhaps these things are most special because they are fleeting. it truly is the small things in life that keep me inspired and engaged.

this reminds me I have this plant in my backyard, I should check if it's in bloom! Nice words.
I have to agree with you, Julie, that's why they must be savored to the fullest. I can't remember when I last enjoyed the scent of lilly of the valley.
These photos are so beautiful, maybe more so to me since I favor the scent of the lily of the valley more than any other flower. It takes me back to my earlier childhood. We had it everywhere, and I was ALWAYS playing outside. It is because of my memories, that I have planted it around my backyard patio and bring sprigs indoors. You are right. Some of the more wonderous things are much too fleeting.
Nice thoughts about Lily of the Valley and the small things in life. Lovely photos, so fresh and green.
