birch grove cabin
this little piece is a work in process. i'm not completely happy with it yet . . . pretty pleased with the tress but not the cabin. as usual, it's all torn paper with bits of chalk, oil pastels and ink to add dimension and details. i'll putter around with it a bit more over the next week or two and then stamp it done. i'm thinking about doing a completely new cabin. i'm just not wild about how this one turned out. i'm calling it birch grove cabin. for me it represents a quiet place of nature where you can walk thru the crisp fallen leaves, soak up the sun-drenched autumn air and snuggle before the fireplace at night with a good book.

Very lovely! Birches are one of my favorite trees.
I really can't wait to see mine!!!
I could use some solitude snuggled up in that cabin right now! LOL. I love the birch trees!
Love it! The birches amaze me!!

I actually love this one, Julie. I think this is one of your best pieces!
I love the picture...something about trees and houses....really soothing. Your picture put me in the mood for the Fall season!
I agree with you, the birch trees are just right the way they are. I like the cabin but I would like to see what you have in mind. Overall, I think it is a very nice piece.
A beautiful piece, maybe not YOUR dream cabin but I'm sure someone else's :) I have the luck of enjoying my neighbors little grouping of birch trees ! Isn't that the best !
I absolutely adore those trees, my all-time favorites, and your art really brings them to life on the canvas. Well done.
I know that everytime I come to your blog I'm going to see something pretty. Love that.
If you ever plan to take a little trip or vacation out to Phoenix, AZ, please notify me...I would love to pull you in as a "visiting artist" for a day at my school. The kiddos would just devour your work with love!
Peace & Love.
I love how earthy this one is. It's wonderful!
I love your cabin, Julie....but I know the feeling. I also have a love/hate relationship with every piece that I complete. It takes a month before I actually know how I feel about it.
I like it, especially the colours, so warm and beautiful. Very nice.
I love it! Makes me excited about fall.
Oh, it's lovely. Talk about memories! I need to get that CD you mentioned and the book looks great too.
Your "birch grove cabin" reminds me of my parents' cabin. They are selling it :( because the upkeep is too much for them in their older years now. I wish I had enough money to buy it from them and preserve the memories. They had such a hard time making this decision.
Anyway, your "birch grove cabin" is very lovely.
Anni
Please show it to us when completed. Very good.
