heart and home

i've always been very much a homebody. it's fun to go on vacation or take a day trip once in a while. and, visiting family on a sunday is a huge joy. but, honestly, there's nowhere i'd rather be than home. for me, there's nothing like a lazy day at home. it always starts with coffee on the patio on warm, sunny days or coffee in front of the fireplace in the winter. there's always a pile of carefully selected novels waiting by the reading chair. the sunshine streaming in my art room window makes it a most inviting spot. presley gets some much-deserved attention after spending long days alone during the week. and, of course, there are all of your blogs to catch up on!!

i've noticed that both of my kids are homebodies as well. i guess i raised them that way. as a single parent, money for going and doing was pretty scarce. there was always a creative way to make being at home fun. we simulated a camping trip in our living room by cooking on top of the kerosene heater a few times. sunday afternoons after church often included a yahtzee tournament with the best out of 5 games being declared the yahtzee champ. we stayed up late with the lights out and told stories. and there were always books to read back then as well.

so here's to sunday at home. i know i'm going to enjoy it. what's your favorite thing to do at home?

i enjoyed this post and learning about your living room camping trips and yahtzee tournaments! i also love your new collage.

i'm definitely a homebody and take after my mother. i don't work on tues/wed and can stay home the entire 48 hours working on crafts and online (too much time spent on that sometimes). scott would only be able to stay home like that if he was really sick - he likes to go out here and there.

i enjoy doing anything at home that doesn't involve housework, although i don't mind ironing too much.

happy sunday!

I'm a homebody, too, BTW.

Me too!!!!! I enjoy being at home so much that even just the thought of having to go grocery shopping or run an errand is super hard. I'm thankful too, as my hubby is the same as I am.

I go through phases of being a homebody and being out and about. When at home, I listen to a lot of music which is sometimes a necessity.

I LOVE your piece! I really do.

It's nice to have our exchanges once again :]

I become a hermit on the weekends. I putter around the house all day. Not ever really doing anything...just enjoying being at home. I was not like this until I started working full time. I guess I got enough home time back then so that I wasn't so selfish with my alone time. I am sort afraid that I will close the door one day and no one will ever see me again.

Anyway...know just how you fee.

I'm a homebody too, Julie. I love to sit on the back porch and have coffee and a good book to read.

Love your new collage!

I agree, I love being at home more than anyplace else - guess that makes me a home body too. (Thank goodness Roger is the same way.) Your indoor camping trips sound like great fun. I've been dying to have a camp out in my back yard. :)

Another wonderful piece. I like the layers and how earthy this is--as well as how wonderful all the pieces come together as one.

And I'm a homebody as well. I like getting into my own little routines--sometimes taking a break from them and home every once in a while.

Always a wonderful surprise to find that you've been visiting me!! Thanks for all the kind words, my friend!

LOVE this piece ... reminds me of the stands of birch trees that were everywhere in Connecticut ... where I grew up.

I'm soooooooo a homebody too! My friends have to practically drag me out the door. I always would be amazed to hear someone say that they'd be bored out of their minds staying home all day! BORED?!? I simply cannot fathom being bored staying home!

And BTW, you have just received a comment from the Northeast Yahtzee Champion!! I still play, too ... in fact, daily! My secret is out!

Thanks for visiting and sharing your amazing photos, insights, and of course, your amazing art work!

Have a beautiful Sunday!
