the first violet

sweet violet
delicately dancingLinksoulfully swaying
harbinger of spring

i can't wait for that first springtime walk in the woods when i'll see violets, johnny jump-ups, mayflowers and those sweet little bitty white wild flowers bursting forth. this piece was partially inspired by the beautiful collage work of courtney; i adore how she cuts little pieces of paper to make grass!!! in fact, i absolutley adore all her work. please visit her blog and see what amazing collages she makes. the other inspiration for this piece was the vintage sheet music titled "the first violet". the moment i saw it bright and early this morning i knew it was the focal point of my next piece.

it's a beautiful day other than being a little windy and i'm off to take a long bike ride. oh, happy day!!!!

Love that shade of purple, really nice collage. I started to ask if you were a musician too then recalled that you had got a hold of some vintage music pieces but you still could one! I've never created a collage, may try that before long. Have a great day!

So pretty. So perfect. I don't know how you come up with so many ideas, but this is really sweet.

I love spring too. Love my daffodils.
