foggy 4 am

when i was up with the dogs at 4 am this morning there was a thick fog outside. we woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland of icy crystals on all the outdoor surfaces. i'm sure there's a name for this meteorological phenomenon but mostly i just care about all the photo possibilities it creates. it was 7 degrees when i took these and even without gloves it was bearable since there is no wind.

of course, i had my girls keeping me company. they're sleeping right now and then it'll be bath time followed by a quick face and toe nail trim.

my vow to eat healthier and lose some weight is paying off. i lost 7 pounds last week, most of it probably water from all the salty holiday food. today i started my early morning stretching exercises again. i'm fighting back.

enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sublimes photos !

I remember those 4:00 a.m. puppy parties. It's so hard to get up then--but what beauty you found outside. Lovely frost images.

Beautiful photos! We had a snowy day this week where I could see each individual snowflake as it drifted down--it was so serene and beautiful!

that frozen rose caught my attention and all those other shots are so artistic, the way you've captured the frost. Thanks for showing us the beauty of winter, I'll try not to feel so cold! Cute little puppies you have.

Lovely frosty photos. Everything seems softer with frosting. Way to go with the battle. I should be battling the bulge too.

Julie, you definitely had a photographic reward for your 4AM foray into the cold outdoors with the puppies. What wonderful shots!

Congratulations on the weight loss. Seven pounds in a week is unbelievable! I should do that well. I want to lose 25 pounds by May 7th and my son's wedding.
