a silent prayer

life is like a marriage
you have to take
the good with the bad
some days are bright and sunny
others are dark and dreary
you get tired of the same old same old
you yearn for some new adventures
sometimes you're motivated
and a joy to be around
other times, not so much
sometimes you're overwhelmed
with the joy of living
and the creative journey
that you're on
other times you feel the weight
of the world resting on your shoulders
you know how to fight back
and keep your chin up
but you give in to it all
and feel just a little sorry for yourself
you choose not to blog
because really what positive thing
would you have to say
who would want to read about
your lacklustre feelings of tiredness
but one morning you click
on the new post button
and just that one instant of action
starts to ease the burden of life
your heart beats just a little faster
you realize that
you do have something to say
about life and living
about the good and the bad
about how the valleys are what
make the peaks so very special
your fingers clickety clack
on the keys to the rhythm
of your heartbeat, ever faster
bursting with joy
you feel the sunshine
radiating thru the window
and you feel reborn
you hope your message
is heard by others
who may be burdened
just a bit by life
who may need to know
there are others
out there who feel the same way
you close your eyes
and send a silent prayer
out to all those soul mates
who may be suffering
you offer support
and joy
and hope and belief
that life is good
and you click publish
feeling oh so much better
ready to face the day
ready to make a difference
one word
one action
one photo
at a time
you feel
oh so blessed

One reason I love to visit your blog, Julie, is that you inspire us all. When all is dark, you manage to find the silver lining within that ominous gray cloud and cajole the sun to shine again and bring a smile to each of us.
Bless you Julie, for your blog is a blessing to us all.

So beautiful, Julie! Always a special treat to come here and read your poetry, admire your photographs, or drool over your art. Messy, but a treat, lolol!

Hope all is well with you ... stay warm and happy!

Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for that tip about the Colorbox fluid inks for the edges. I was wondering what to do with these white edges and actually used my exacto to get rid of some of them. This is a great tip!!!!! :)

martha, in one of the classes i taught one of the students used all different colors of colorbox ink, some in glimmery shades. it gave a really cool effect. have fun! looking forward to seeing what you do next.

I can relate to this post so much, Julie...some days, it's all I can do to drag myself out of bed. Me, who for almost 45 years as an R.N., jumped out of bed at 5AM, even on my day off. This ten months since I lost my job is the San Francisco budget cuts has overwhelmed me. I hate having had to retire, I couldn't afford to retire, nor am I enjoying it!! I am trying to stay positive and to, at least, blog!! It keeps me in touch with the world!

you single-handedly worked your way around to your positive self and made others feel good in the process. i would say this post defines julie king and what she's all about and that's very good, indeed. xo, c
