towering tulips

the tulips are more lovely this spring than i can ever remember. a few evenings ago i spent about an hour driving and walking around trying to capture all their bouncy, reach-for-the-sky, lusciousness. for most of the above shots i laid right out on the ground so i could shoot up. it was fun and i loved the results.

please keep my dad, mom and family in your thoughts and prayers. we have hospice coming in to help care for dad at home. i spent all day there yesterday and now have packed a bag to go spend the entire weekend. there are no words to express how this feels. as always, thanks for your outreach of love and support.

i love the perspective of your wonderful tulip photos - always looking up to blue skies. wishing you all the best with your dad and mom. it's tough when the child becomes the parent. they're lucky to have you and i'm sure they know it.

That first photo is so patriotic. Red, white and blue. Hang in there.

Julie, I didn't know your dad was sick. I'm so sorry. You all will be in my prayers.

Love the angle of your photos. Blue sky behind flowers makes me smile every time.

Yes, lying right down on the ground gave you some terrific shots, they really caught my attention as unique. Great job.

Oh my gosh, seeing all your beautiful tulip photos, I was already thinking of my dad, tulips were his favorite. Such nice photos with the sky as a background....may ask permission to use one as a reference for a new piece. Most importantly, my heart and prayers do go to you and your family as you experience this part of your lives. I DO know how you feel, lost both of my parents in my early forties, just a year apart and they were both in seperate hospitals at the same time, my dad wasn't expected to live that extra year. It is a surreal time, something you dread, wondered about perhaps and then cannot believe the time is here. All I can say is, I found there were little blessings to be found even in the sad situation. I was blessed and honored to be holding the hand of my dad as he passed just as I did with my mom, but it is tough....my heart and strength go out to you. The memories will flash through your mind like a movie promo, at least they did for me. Stay strong.
