the art of a loving dog

recently i read the art of racing in the rain by garth stein and i loved it!! it touched my heart and opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking from a dog's perspective. although it is fiction (and very well-written fiction) it struck a truthful chord with me. i would highly recommend it!

of course, it had me thinking of my sweet presley. i miss him so!!! the overwhelming hurt is lessening but i am still caught off guard daily by the loss of him and our wonderful routine. he truly was my most giving friend. if you've ever had and loved a dog you know what i mean. they love selflessly and whole heartedly. just the way it should be done!

Just found your blog today Julie and I love looking at all of your art pieces. Such talent! I took a mixed media art class one afternoon in Canada this summer while on a Girl's weekend with some college friends. We had such fun and I am going to try my hand a making more. Your pieces are an inspiration!!

I'm glad to hear the hurt is lessening, but you'll always miss your little buddy. Sweet pics.

Julie, I'm just looking at your Etsy cards. I had to buy some "in sympathy" cards this week and the selection was so horrible, ugly and cheesy. I need to plan ahead, I think, and buy some of your beautiful cards.

I lost my darling Mishka 5 years ago and still miss him regularly.

I bought this book a couple months ago and it's now made it to the top of my "next" pile. Finishing the last of the Twilight series now and then I'll be on to this one. Glad to hear you loved it. :-)

He was a cute little dude. I'm sorry you feel such a loss, but I'm glad you had him all those years.

My heart goes out to you Julie. I too have lost a beloved furry four legged friend recently and I miss her terribly. I love what you said at the end...."they love selflessly and whole heartedly. just the way it should be done!"....I couldn't agree with you more.

Julie
I was thinking of your little guy the other day when I visited your blog and saw his picture. He must have been so special...he'll always have a place in your heart! Thanks for sharing the sweet pictures.

I think of you often Julie, especially on the Thursday's post. It takes a long time to get over the loss, I know. I'm glad to hear your hurt has lessened a bit though. You have had some awesome art posted recently...keep it up!

Oh Julie ... we're thinking about you. Honestly now that I've made the bold move to add to our canine family I cannot believe that I waited SO long. Little Miss Piper Belle is just a dream dog. I do hope you won't wait as long as I did. xo Susan & Gang

Just ordered this book from my library

Every time I visit your blog, I look at his picture in the sidebar and get a little pang in my heart for you. My max is also my most faithful, forgiving, loyal, sweet companion, and I treasure every day with him because I know they are not with us long enough. I wish you comfort in the fact that he was so loved by you and that is the best we can do for them.
