i am a lone tree

i am a lone tree
standing tall
against
prejudice
violence
cynicism
hopelessness
waste

i am a lone tree
branches furled
spreading
hope
joy
love
peace
goodwill

i am a lone tree
who will join me?

I am a lone tree,
But when joined with thee,
What a combination, we will be!

I am an oak,
you are a conifer
together we can stand
side by side
and grow...
and tolerate,
and celebrate,
our differences.

My response to your beautiful words.

Beautiful photo and poem Julie! Yesterday afternoon I found myself desperately trying to capture the stark beauty of bare trees against the late afternoon sky. I never could get it right. I'm glad you did.

Amidst great beauty
in a garden of ideas
I am a lone tree

Joined in a forest
dreams gathered like leaves
I am not alone

wow with the poetic comments ladies!! wonderful!

stevie, i struggled with shooting up at first but now i put my hand all the way down close to the ground with the lens pointed up at an angle. it is shooting blind since i'm not looking thru the lens but sometimes i get lucky and get an awesome shot.

lovely poem, it strikes as a welcome verse, that the tree is not alone at all
